Re: Performances from NGB's since FINA World Championships in Melbourne

I am pleased to include a summary of the fantastic performances of the US aquatic family since the 2007 FINA World Championships when we were last together. As we approach the 2007 USAS Convention, I thought it appropriate to share with you a recap of our athletes accomplishments.

The athletes competing this summer certainly represented themselves, their country and their NGB is an exemplary way at the Pan Am Games, the World University Games and in other FINA competitions. Our teams are in strong position for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and collectively we represent the USOC's strongest assets heading into an uncharted waters.

I wanted to take a moment to draw your attention to the outstanding success of our Masters squad that competed at the 2007 Pan American Masters Championships last month. Our athletes returned with 134 medals, 98 of them were gold. Eighty four of their swims were new Pan Am Masters records and one set a world record at the competition, Graham Johnston. These heroes usually don't grace the covers of our weekly sports and national interest magazines, but next week we be fortunate to be rubbing elbows with many of them in Anaheim.

The following information was prepared by Jen Lowery on behalf of USA Diving, Mark Gill and Mel Goldstein of US Masters, Karen Linhart of USA Swiming, Taylor Payne of US Synchronized Swimning and Greg Mescall of USA Water Polo. This same team was responsible for the excellent USAS Media Guide used at the 2007 FINA World Championships. I am lucky enough to work with these diligent and dedicated individuals, each of whom are each extremely passionate about sharing the great stories about our athletes and the golden histories of our respective aquatic sports. Thanks again to each of them for their great work.

Safe travels to and from Anaheim. See you on the pool deck somewhere soon!
